What caused the pet food recall?
It’s a scary issue - so many animals have been killed or gotten very ill from tainted dog and cat food. So what caused the recall? It seems that a company that was supplying “Wheat Gluten” (a source of protein in the food) had created a contaminated batch of wheat gluten. This contaminated batch got into many different brands of dog and cat food. This is what caused animal renal failure - a shutdown of the kidneys.
Now, pet foods with rice protein are also being recalled. We’ll update you as we learn more.
